PDR is led by ten Principals each an expert in a unique aspect of design and all with a passion for delivering Great Places to Work. Our Leadership is committed to excellence in design; accurately defining the workplace problem we are solving and creating the most appropriate solution. Our core values are based on doing significant work, being innovative in our approach and solutions, being profitable in our efforts and having fun in our pursuits. The Principals lead a uniquely talented staff of designers, architects, strategists, graphic designers, and organizational experts all cross-trained blurring the line between disciplines allowing team members to work seamlessly across all phases of the project and enabling an agile studio able to respond to dynamic demands of the market.

Drew Patton

Drew is a Principal and Chief Business Strategist at PDR. His thirty years of experience with global corporations and deep understanding of how to synthesize the critical issues have established Drew as a business consultant beyond the normal realm of the architectural profession. Drew’s research into the patterns, boundaries and connectors of people are the foundation for his insight and leadership skills.

As Program Manager, Drew has worked with the senior leadership team of major corporations to develop the business case and solutions for corporate campuses, corporate relocations, building repurposing projects, and new buildings. For Exxon Mobil's new campus,  Drew lead the PDR team in the development of the master program and was instrumental in the proposal process and selection of the entire consulting and construction team. In a similar business consulting role, Drew was the Program Manager for the ConocoPhillips Houston campus expansion and renovation project.

As a Thought leader, Drew’s passion centers on enabling others to succeed. This applies to the entire PDR team, his clients, and his friends.

Drew earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Louisiana and he is a Registered Architect in the State of Texas.

 

  

 

Joanne Taylor

Since 1974, Joanne Taylor has developed comprehensive planning and migration strategies for some of the world’s most significant corporate consolidations, mergers and acquisitions.

Joanne served as Project Manager for the 1998 merger of BP and Amoco, at the time the world’s largest industrial merger involving the relocation of 4,000 employees in less than three months.
Following this extraordinary project, she led the development of PDR’s enhanced project management systems, a database which later would play a key role in the successful planning and migration strategies created by PDR for the global mergers of ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips.

During her career, she has worked closely with in-house real estate facilities groups to create workplace and furniture standards for large-scale corporations, most notably Citgo, ConocoPhillips  and ExxonMobil, to ensure workplace environments meet each organizational structure and provide long-term flexibility. She was the project manager to establish new workplace standards and the interior architecture redevelopment concepts for the ConocoPhillips Houston corporate campus.

Joanne advises clients on design solutions to meet images and budgets, strategies for project phasing and schedules and reviews construction cost pricing and value engineering.

Additionally, she has managed the office design for start-up ventures looking to create a successful, established appearance as an extension of their brands and marketing strategies. Her international experience includes large-scale projects in Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

As President of PDR, Joanne is responsible for project staffing, training, recruiting and overseeing the firm’s general office operations.  This role, she explains, allows her to bring her personnel management skills to the project level.

“Communication skills are vital to maintaining the client’s comfort level with the complexities of a project,” she adds.

Joanne is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Registered Interior Designer. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Environmental Design from Louisiana State University.

Dave Woodard

David Woodard is an award-winning Project Architect whose emphasis on back-end process focuses on construction techniques, processes, production issues and construction documents.

During his 30-year career, David has provided pre-construction feasibility assessments of major, large-scale U.S. projects for Cooper Cameron, Coastal Corporation, ConocoPhillips and Mitchell Energy, among others. He also participated in the transformation of ExxonMobil’s Business Support Centers in Prague, Budapest and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
 
David’s insight into construction techniques has led to his standing as one of the industry’s premier Project Architects.  Moreover, his background allows him to consider the “build-ability” of a project, a detailed, pre-construction evaluation which leads to fewer contractor change orders and greater cost efficiencies.

“Going from a great, front-end idea to a great environment – that process is my passion,” he says.  

David earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Idaho.  He is a Registered Architect in the State of Texas and holds memberships in the American Institute of Architects and the Construction Specifications Institute.

Wayne Braun

Wayne Braun is an accomplished, nationally recognized Designer of corporate office spaces, best known for his attention to the character, quality and long-term functionality of his work. As Design Director at PDR, he is responsible for advising clients and in-house teams on the architectural planning, furnishings, lighting and finishes. His recognition as a nationally prominent designer started very early in his career, designing the Vecta Furniture’s Houston showroom, a project which earned national acclaim from several design magazines. Similar successes have been recognized throughout his design career. Wayne has served as Design Lead for a number of noteworthy projects including Invesco Aim, CITGO, ExxonMobil, Devon Energy, ConocoPhillips and Schlumberger.

Wayne understands projects from the client’s perspective, both from a functional and aesthetic point of view. His passion is further driven by assessing a project’s success long after its completion.

“It’s not enough to determine how to make a space work today, but we have to ask how we can make it work after it has been renovated the first and second time. That’s the challenge I really embrace,” he adds.

In addition to his accomplishments in office design, Wayne is an award-winning designer of commercial furniture products, providing him with invaluable insight into the evaluation of manufacturers, their organizations and their products. Wayne leverages that unique knowledge to help his clients make the best choices of furnishings for their workplaces.

Wayne is a member of the Industrial Design Society of America and is a Registered Interior Designer in Texas.

Larry Lander

Larry’s thirty-plus year career in workplace design is the foundation for his deep knowledge of effective work environments, his interest in workplace strategy and programming and the development of workplace planning guidelines for projects around the world. As a principal with PDR, he has led the teams in the design of large-scale new buildings, development of campus and learning environments and corporate relocations.

For 3M, he led the workplace design for their Austin, Texas campus, designed to promote collegiality between laboratory and office workers.He developed the collaborative workplace concepts for the Chrysler Technology Center and was instrumental in the renovation of Chevron’s suburban Houston campus.
His deep knowledge on the design of effective workplaces helped establish ExxonMobil’s global workplace design criteria: comprehensive global guidelines designed to support the organization’s corporate philosophies while embracing local cultures. He has led projects throughout North America and around the world including Europe, Asia and South America.

Larry credits his success to his hands-on collaboration with clients to establish strategies and strong concept design. His strong rapport with client teams helps ensure outstanding results and effective team dynamics.

“The workplace is a learning environment. The foundation of workplace effectiveness is a rich combination of spaces that promote collaboration, leverage technology and allow true collegiality in order to support organizations striving for breakthrough performance,” he says.

Larry is a principal with PDR and a registered architect in the State of Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati.

Lauri Goodman Lampson

A leading workplace designer, Lauri Goodman Lampson develops effective workplace strategies to address key business challenges of collaborative problem solving, knowledge transfer, process improvement, and cross training.

As an award-winning designer, Lauri has transformed businesses “through place” by aligning workplace strategies that solve key organizational issues. With a strong foundation in conceptual design, Lauri has led clients through the transition of workplace as a strategic asset in enabling their business goals for more than twenty years.

Among her career accomplishments, Lauri spearheaded a High Performance Team workplace strategy during the transformation of a Wilmington, Delaware landmark department store into corporate office space for Accenture. This strategy became the benchmark for Accenture’s Business Process workplaces.

She also authored “A Great Place to Work,” comprehensive design guidelines for ExxonMobil’s global Business Support Centers which would become instrumental in the organization’s ability to attract top global talent and maintain peak levels of productivity. This development is the foundation of ExxonMobil’s global workplace design criteria which delivers a truly balanced work environment that supports the business needs of the corporation, the group and the individual.

Lauri has led projects throughout North America and around the globe including Europe, Africa and South America.

“My focus is on gaining a deep understanding of the business and its strategy for success and then developing strategic workplace solutions that enable those goals,” she says.

Lauri is a Principal with PDR, is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification and is a Registered Interior Designer in the State of Texas. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston.

Peter Fisher

Peter Fisher, a veteran Project Manager and Architect, focuses his practice on the preparation of construction documents for workplaces ranging from large-scale corporate headquarters to specialized spaces such as visualization rooms and dining facilities.

Besides providing clients with detailed project specifications, Peter’s role in the construction documentation process allows him to represent clients in budgeting, scheduling, validating contractor pricing, and all aspects of the contract administration process for new and transformed spaces.

Since 1990, he has worked with global real estate groups on projects for the likes of Accenture, Cooper Cameron, ExxonMobil, and Weatherford International.  His experience includes a knowledge and understanding of the complexities of the Middle East, spending three years managing the design and contract administration for a new office tower in Doha, Qatar.

Peter prides himself in preparing detailed construction documents which provide both clients and contractors with a roadmap to facilitate on-budget, on-schedule and quality control of projects.

“I love what I do because creating a quality product makes you feel good, and when a client shares in that success it feels great.” says Peter.

A Registered Architect in the State of Texas and Principal at PDR, Peter earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design and Masters of Architecture from Texas A&M University.  He also studied in Italy in the Italart Study Abroad Program.

Kelly Baughman

Kelly Baughman is a real estate portfolio planning specialist who focuses on the evaluation of an organization’s current workplace occupancy needs and the impact of projected growth or attrition on its real estate footprint.

She also leads PDR’s change management team. Our team plans, develops and executes organizational change management, workforce transition and communication strategies. Kelly provides management consulting expertise to improve the bottom line performance of the client organization.

Among her many accomplishments, she facilitated the global corporate migration for ExxonMobil involving 12,000 moves in 29 different countries during the first 16 weeks following the merger. For ConocoPhillips, Kelly coordinated the migration of 4,000 moves in three U.S. cities.

She also supports special projects to assist companies in visualizing how their workplaces will look after a restructuring, merger or consolidation.

“We come to understand a business, how it is organized, its reporting structure, business objectives, and inter-group workings and then determine what’s really relevant to a company’s strategic plan,” she says.  “It’s more than just making a fit, it’s about helping to facilitate the needs of the business.”

Kelly earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston.  She also is an Associate Member of the International Facilities Management Association.

Stuart Harris

Stuart Harris is an architect and LEED Accredited Professional who serves as a Project Manager for large-scale corporate relocations, comprehensive renovations and major facility transformations.

During his 20-year career, Stuart has been responsible for the due diligence, construction scheduling, contracts and budgets associated with the complex transformations of big box buildings, such as retail showrooms, manufacturing facilities and historic structures, into award winning corporate office environments.

He describes each of these transformations as “an opportunity to give an old friend new life."

Stuart served as Project Manager and Project Architect in the transformation of a ten story retail showroom in Greenway Plaza into the Houston headquarters for Koch Industries. He managed the conversion of a long-time department store in Wilmington, Delaware into office space for Accenture. He also prepared the master plan to transform a Nabisco cookie factory near the Texas Medical Center into premier office space.

Stuart is one of the foremost authorities on LEED and sustainable design and served as the Project Architect for Schlumberger’s corporate headquarters relocation to Houston, an award winning, LEED CI Silver certified project. Among its many innovative features, it is recognized for dramatic lighting and successfully incorporating a museum-quality art collection into the new space.

Stuart is a Principal with PDR and a registered architect in the state of Texas. He also holds a membership with the American Institute of Architects. Stuart graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Among his many community contributions, Stuart served as a long-time board member and officer for the Lawndale Art Center, a contemporary art center which exhibits the works of more than 500 artists.

Jerry Griffin

Jerry Griffin is responsible for all aspects of PDR’s information technology strategy, online services, and business application development.  He is also responsible for the investment, deployment and training of the firm’s Building Information Modeling and design technologies. 

In addition to managing PDR’s in-house technology, Jerry creates and manages customized client applications and web services. 

Jerry also advises clients and project teams on the development, evaluation, and coordination of information and technology systems.  Since 1995, Jerry has coordinated technology and security packages for a number of large-scale projects including the international terminal at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Jerry’s passion for technology coupled with his education and background in architecture allows him to understand how IT integrates with the building environment.  “It’s a combination that helps meld information technology with a project’s infrastructure,” he says.

Jerry earned his Bachelor of Architecture and Minor in CAD Management from the University of Houston.
